Presenting the eagerly awaited debut album CAMAHOGNE - Spice, Jazz & Soul by Alana La Grenade, a Native of Grenada, W.I., who now resides in the U.S.A. with her husband and two children.  Her second album CAMAHONGE - II: More Spice, Latin Jazz & Soul will follow fast on the heels of the first release within a few short weeks.  Both of these carry a strong Grenada flavor and theme throughout; beginning with the name of the album which is the Original Carib Indian name for the Island of Grenada which is in the far South-Eastern Caribbean, 12 degrees North of the equator.  Other names for the island include L' Isle de La Grenade and Isle of Spice and are referenced as titles of individual selections on both albums.  Halifax Street and San Souci are both names of a street and neighborhood  in the Parish of St. George, and Black Diamond Rock is the official name of the now famous active volcano unofficially referred to as "Kick-em Jenny".

On her debut album which Alana has dedicated to her parents Sibyl and Allan La Grenade, her nuclear and extended family, she has named two selections in honor of her children Ariana and Allan, with the selections Serenity and Carib Strut having been named in honor of her husband Bernard and Grand Mother Eva Ollivierre who was originally from the sister Isle of Petit Martinque.

In her second album, Alana dedicates the selections Clairvoyance and Intergrity respectively to her late mother Sibyl (a name which means prophetess) and Allan La Grenade (who in his life-time had often been respectfully referred to by his friends and co-workers as 'Mr. Integrity'; a hat he was proud to wear).

CAMOHOGNE AND CAMAHOGNE ~ II consist of relaxing and at the same time enjoyable dance or 'sit-down' music for all age groups - often a difficult mix for composers to achieve.  In these two albums, there is plenty of Spice for the young and young-at-heart, with many Jazz and Soul selections for those who wish to switch to the relaxation mood.
